Driving Force Behind the Organization: Reason for setting up Foundation.

Founding Director, Uday M. Mehta, has done B. Tech from IIT Bom., G.C.W.A. (Kolkatta), M.B.A., C.P.A., M.A. Economics from California. He used to work for Price Water House & Co. in San Francisco and The World Bank in Washington D.C. He was a Father of 34 years old Cerebral Palsy Son “Siddh” who had more than 90% Disabilities. Mr. & Mrs. Mehta spent first 6 years Siddh's life in USA to find the cure for Siddh. But with no cure in sight after visiting Kennedy Krieger Institue associated with John Hopkins Hospital. As Mr. Mehta says "Option of keeping Siddh in US home was there but We decided not to put Siddh in Home since we knew that child who can not speak nor walk will not be taken care properly. Then Siddh would have limited life in the Home and to finish his Past Karmas Siddh will have to take Rebirth in similar status". Hence they decided to migrate back to India to take care of Siddh. They know pain and agony of raising a Divyang Son. This is an attempt to provide tools for improving the quality of life for Divyang children with the use of Assistive Technology which is scalable and replicable .

Guiding Philosophy behind “Siddh Divyang”

Pre-Primary Education is the foundation of a child's learning experience. Our Guiding Philosophy behind developing and implmenting “Siddh Divyang” is :
“If a Weak Sapling is supported early in its growth it has a better chance to be a stronger Tree.
Hence we start from the Pre Primary Age Group".

Siddh Divyang Foundation is set up with a view to implement Assistive Technology based platform with Divyang children in India as there is very little intervention with Affordable technology driven solution in this Domain. Our Vision is to implement this technology enabled solution for imparting education and vocational skills in an interactive way to the “Divyang” students living in the tier 1 cities to tier 5 villages of India. Technology enable us to reach out to the Divyang children falling in categories as below :
